Let’s also bear in mind just what the consequences are of buying cheap RV sewer hoses. Cheaper hoses are more likely to fail and more often. While your hose could just get a tiny leak that you may spot in time, chances are it could also go spectacularly wrong and you could end up saturated with the contents of your black tank. Some RVers prefer a single 15-foot hose; however, if you’re parked up and you’re almost right on top of your sewer inlet, then a 15-footer is going to have a fair amount of slack in it. In these situations, even a 5-footer would do. However, realistically one five-foot RV hose is way too short to be practical at every campsite or dump station.
Bear in mind that you can also purchase extensions, so if you see a good deal on an RV sewer hose kit by one of your favorite brands, but are worried about the length, check out the availability and cost of their compatible extensions.
Thickness
Thick RV sewer hoses tend to be more durable, meaning they last longer and you’re less likely to have burst-related leaks. Thickness for RV sewer hoses is measured in metric millimeters. Anything 20-mil or over is a good choice that should stand up to use on concrete pads and gravel.
